About Friends of the Fitchburg Library

Mission Statement
The Friends of the Fitchburg Library supports the mission of the Fitchburg Public Library through fundraising efforts, volunteer opportunities, partnerships, programming, and outreach. It is a grassroots organization that builds pride and a sense of community for Fitchburg residents.


The Friends of the Fitchburg Library values the following:

• Life long learning and literacy
• Equal access to services
• Community identity and pride
• Camaraderie
• Our dedicated volunteers and supporters

What do Friends do?

• Offer books for sale daily in the library lobby
• Hold larger book sales three times per year
• Fund the Summer Reading Program, the Book Page publication and several other special events at the library
• Provide volunteers for fundraising events
